Mirabilandia, the largest funfair in Emilia Romagna, is situated in Savio, in the province of Ravenna: the park opens at Easter, is open from April to September and occasionally opens in the weekends of September and October. Mirabilandia is famous all over the world for the outstanding attractions it boasts: its major carousels hold both national and European records, such as Columbia & Discovery, the highest towers in Europe. Another symbol of the park is Eurowheel, the Ferris wheel which is famous all over the world for the large number of bulbs which contribute to light it and the breathtaking view over Ravenna and its beaches it offers. As far as rollercoaster are concerned, Katun is the most famous one since it is the largest in Europe: this breathtaking attraction gives visitors the possibility to experience the thrilling emotions coming from an high-speed fly into space. Apart from these attractions, the park also stages renowned shows; not to be missed is Police Academy, which has caught the attention of both children and adults for more than 10 years. Every year great performances and acrobatics by expert stuntmen are staged, who perform crazy car races and extraordinary jumps across flames and obstacles. Not to be missed are Italian Baywatch, featuring acrobatic dives, and Laser Night Show, which proposes light and laser effects all night long. As a news for season 2008, Mirabilandia proposes great surprises: first of all Reset, a new interactive attraction. It is called a "dark ride", since it is an indoor dark path where visitors will be given laser guns to hit the numerous bull's-eyes they will encounter along the path. Reset is set in a future apocalyptic New York, where population is almost wiped out because of a meteor shower and the few survivors struggle for life. Another greatest news is the 4D show "Monsters of the Depths of the Sea", a movie which will involve spectators adding the 3D vision effects such as sprinklings of water and chair vibration.
